Silverwood’s Response to the Coronavirus Pandemic
Plans, Policies and Resources
Pandemic Response Plan
School reopened this fall, thanks to the hard work of our teachers and staff. We have consulted directly with the Kitsap Public Health District to create a Pandemic Response Plan that follows the guidelines laid out by our regional health authorities and by the Governor. By leveraging our outdoor spaces, Silverwood has been able to hold school on-campus (with modifications) since early September.
Day in the Life of a Student
When they come to school this year, our students will encounter some changes from last year. In addition to physical alterations to our classrooms, our staff have entirely rethought our moment-to-moment routines to minimize transmission and increase safety. To prepare our students (and parents!), we have assembled a minute-to-minute schedule for the typical school day.
Emergency Preparedness
Washington is home to a few unique hazards for which we must be prepared. Winter windstorms, occasional snow, power outages, and earthquakes are all potential emergencies. As our climate changes, we can expect additional concerns, such as extreme heat and air quality degradation. Our Emergency Preparedness resources are for families to know what we are doing at Silverwood, what they can expect during an emergency from us, and how to better prepare their own homes. Look for this soon!
