THE SILVERWOOD ADMISSIONS PROCESS
Inquiry
Every new application to Silverwood starts with an online inquiry submitted to our Admissions Staff. If you are interested in learning more about Silverwood, our educational philosophy, or our admissions process, click the link to Submit an Inquiry or Contact the Office.
Tour
All prospective student and their parents / guardians should schedule a visit to our school. Many families agree that “it just felt right” when they drove onto campus. Tours are by appointment. To schedule a tour of Silverwood School, submit an inquiry via the link to the right or Contact the Office.
Application
Our application is available online starting in November each year. The application process includes the following steps:
Complete online Silverwood School Application for Admission
Pay the non-refundable $100 application fee (at the end of the application)
Request supplementary information from your child’s current school
If you are unsure about any parts of the application, please contact the Office. Once all steps of the application are completed, the Office will contact families to schedule your child’s Campus Visit and Assessment.
Submit Supplemental Application Material Requests
Certain school records are required by Silverwood to complete a prospective student’s application. Silverwood requires that these supplementary forms be sent directly from the current school to Silverwood. Please click the button to the right to access the supplemental material request forms.
Request Financial Aid Information (optional)
Investing in your child’s primary education fosters intellectual curiosity and a love for learning. The school knows, however, that this investment can be challenging for some families. Financial assistance may be available for those families. Silverwood encourages families to reach out to our Business Office to learn more about what Silverwood may offer.
The Application is available online starting in November. After your campus tour, we will invite you to apply via our online portal!
Assessment Visit
After your application is complete, our Admissions Staff will reach out to your family to schedule a Campus Visit and Assessment. All Assessments occur between January and March. The Office will begin scheduling assessment visits in late January/early February, once re-enrollment for current families is complete. Plan on a full-day, in-class visit for Grades 1-6.
Prospective Kindergarten students are invited for a Group Assessment visit in March.
Admissions Decisions
Admissions and Financial Aid decisions are made at the end of March. Families will receive an offer of admission, placement in our admissions wait pool, or an encouragement to reapply in the future. Families who are offered admission will receive their contract with their decision. Contracts will be due back with the non-refundable deposit in early April.
At Silverwood we work hard to build a classroom cohort that is carefully balanced. Applicants who are placed in our wait pool will be considered on a rolling basis as places become available within our classrooms. Our wait pool is unranked. All pool members are considered for each place. Wait pool applicants are welcome to remove their name from the wait pool with no repercussions.
Silverwood School does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, ethnicity, gender or sexual orientation, in employment or in the administration of its educational program, admissions policies, financial aid program, or other school-administered programs.
